Benefits of Giving Zakat in Ramadan: 10 Spiritual Rewards You Must Know
Ramadan arrives. The air feels different. You feel a strong desire to do good. You open your bank app. You check your savings. You start the math. You want to know the benefits of giving zakat in Ramadan.
Is this just a habit? Or does the timing really matter?
At SPAR Project, we see the power of your Zakat every year. We see it change lives in the villages of Bangladesh. We see it put rice on empty tables. We see it build homes. But we also know something else. The biggest winner is actually you. The giver gets more than the receiver.
In this guide, we explore the amazing rewards of paying your Zakat now. We explain why millions of Muslims choose Ramadan for their payment. We show you how this single act changes your fate.

1. The 70x Reward Multiplier
This is the main reason. It is a spiritual jackpot.
We know good deeds weigh more in Ramadan. But do you know the math? Scholars explain a powerful rule from the Hadith.
- A voluntary deed in Ramadan earns the reward of a required deed.
- A required deed (like Zakat) in Ramadan earns the reward of 70 required deeds.
Think about that.
Zakat is a pillar of Islam. It is a huge duty. If you pay it in a normal month, you get one reward.
If you pay it now, you get 70 rewards.
One of the huge benefits of giving zakat in Ramadan is this multiplier. It is the smartest investment for your afterlife. You do the same work. You pay the same money. But you get 70 times the credit.

2. You Purify Your Wealth
The word “Zakat” means two things. It means “to purify.” It also means “to grow.”
Imagine your wealth is a fruit tree. If you never cut the dead branches, the tree gets sick. The fruit stays small.
Zakat is the garden shear. You cut away the 2.5%. It looks like you have less tree. But actually, you made the tree healthy.
When you pay Zakat, you clean your money. You remove the “impurity.” You make sure every dollar you keep is pure and blessed. Doing this in Ramadan feels right. You purify your body with fasting. You purify your money with Zakat. It creates perfect harmony.
3. You Follow the Prophet’s Speed
We copy the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) in everything. How did he act in Ramadan?
His companion Ibn Abbas described him. He said the Prophet was the most generous of all people. But in Ramadan, he changed. He became “faster than the blowing wind.”
Think about the wind.
- It moves fast.
- It touches everyone.
- It brings cool relief.
When you donate to SPAR Project, you follow this habit. You act with speed. You do not wait. You bring relief to the poor in Bangladesh. Following the Prophet is a massive benefit on its own.
4. You Gain Protection from Bad Luck
We live in scary times. Accidents happen. People get sick. Businesses fail. We all want safety.
The Prophet (ﷺ) gave us a secret. He said, “Give charity without delay. It stands in the way of calamity.”
Zakat acts as a shield. It stands between you and bad fate. It stops disasters before they hit you. By paying it in Ramadan, you start your year with a strong shield. You ask Allah to protect your family. You ask Him to guard your health.
5. You Clean Your Heart of Greed
Humans love money. It is natural. But sometimes, love turns into greed. We want to hoard everything.
Zakat breaks that cycle. It forces you to let go. It teaches your heart a lesson. It says money belongs to Allah, not you. You are just the manager.
One of the mental benefits of giving zakat in Ramadan is discipline. You fast from food to train your body. You give Zakat to train your wallet. This breaks the chains of materialism. It makes you feel light and free.
6. You Get Shade on Judgment Day
The Day of Judgment will be hot. The sun will come close. People will panic. They will sweat. They will look for shade.
The Prophet (ﷺ) promised a solution. He said, “The believer’s shade on the Day of Resurrection will be his charity.”
Every dollar you give builds that shade.
- Your Zakat builds a roof over your head in the next life.
- It builds a roof over a poor family’s head in this life.
When you help build a water well with SPAR Project, you secure your own comfort. You prepare for the day you need help the most.
7. Angels Pray for You Daily
Do you want Angels to pray for you? Charity is the key.
The Prophet (ﷺ) told us a story. Every morning, two angels come down.
One says, “O Allah, give more to the one who spends.”
The other says, “O Allah, bring ruin to the one who withholds.”
When you pay your Zakat, you invite the prayer of the first angel. They ask Allah to replace your money. They ask for something better. Imagine the power of that prayer. An angel has no sin. Allah listens to them. Their existence is a benefit you cannot buy.
8. You Fix Society in Bangladesh
Zakat is not just about you. It is about us. It is about the community.
In Bangladesh, the gap between rich and poor is wide. Zakat acts as a bridge. It moves wealth from the strong to the weak. It stops society from breaking.
When you pay Zakat, you remove envy. When a hungry person sees you eat, they feel pain. When you share your wealth, that pain turns to love. You build a society based on care. You stCould the timing actually be significant?
9. You Get Guaranteed Acceptance
We worry about our deeds. Did I pray right? Was my fast valid?
Ramadan is a time of mercy. The gates of Heaven open wide. The gates of Hell close shut. The devils are in chains.
The conditions for acceptance are perfect.
When you combine a duty (Zakat) with a blessed time (Ramadan), you have high hope. You fulfill a command of Allah in the month He loves most. It is the “safest” time to deposit your good deeds.
10. You Increase Your Wealth (Barakah)
This is a promise from Allah. It goes against normal math.
Math says: $1000 minus $25 equals $975. You have less.
Islam says $1000 minus $25 equals more.
The Prophet (ﷺ) swore on this. He said, “Charity never decreases wealth.”
Allah puts Barakah (blessing) in the rest of your money.
- Maybe your car runs longer without repairs.
- Maybe you get a raise at work.
- Maybe your medical bills stay low.
The benefits of giving zakat in Ramadan reach your bank account. You clean your money. Allah blesses the rest to go further than you imagine.
Can I Pay Early to Get These Rewards?
People ask this often.
“My Zakat is due in a different month. Can I pay in Ramadan to get the rewards?”
Yes!
You can pay Zakat in advance. It is a smart move.
How to do it:
- Estimate: Guess what you will owe later in the year.
- Pay Now: Send that amount to SPAR Project during Ramadan. Make the intention that it is for Zakat.
- Verify Later: When your actual date comes, verify your numbers. If you paid enough, you are done. If you owe more, pay the small difference.
This way, you do your duty. You also grab the 70x Ramadan reward.
Where to Give: Your Impact in Bangladesh
You know the benefits. Now you need a safe place to give.
At SPAR Project, we deliver Zakat to the poorest people in Bangladesh. We take Amanah’s trust seriously.
Here is where your Zakat goes:
- The Starving: We give food packs with rice and oil.
- The Thirsty: We build tube wells for fresh water.
- The Orphans: We sponsor kids with no parents.
- The Homeless: We fix homes broken by floods.
Your 2.5% saves lives. It is that simple.
Final Thoughts: Do Not Miss This Chance

Is Zakat different from Fitra?
Yes. They are very different.
Zakat al-Mal: This is the big one. You pay 2.5% of your savings. You pay this if you are wealthy enough.
Zakat al-Fitr (Fitra): This is small (about $10). Every Muslim pays it in Ramadan before Eid. It buys food for the poor. You must pay both!
Can I pay Zakat in monthly parts?
Yes. But you must do it in advance. You cannot pay “late” in parts. Estimate your total for the year. Send a part every month to SPAR Project. At the end of the year, check your math.
Do I pay Zakat on my paycheck?
No. Zakat is not on income. It is on savings. You do not pay on your salary the moment you get it. You pay on the money you save for a full year.
Can I give Zakat to my family?
Yes! This is very good. But you cannot give to parents, wife, husband, or children. You must support them anyway. You can give to brothers, sisters, cousins, or aunts if they are poor. You get two rewards. One for charity. One for family.
What if I have debt?
You can subtract debts you owe right now.
Example: You have $10,000. You owe a $500 bill today. You pay Zakat on $9,500.
Note: You usually cannot subtract big loans like a 30-year house mortgage. Only subtract what is due now.
Can I use Zakat to build a mosque?
Usually, no. Zakat must go to a person. It helps the poor and needy. A building is not a person. Use Sadaqah to build mosques. Use Zakat for food and direct help.
What is the limit (Nisab)?
Nisab is the minimum amount of money you need before you pay Zakat.
Gold: About 87 grams.
Silver: About 612 grams.
We use the silver value. It is lower. The decrease means more people pay. More poor people get help.
